This wine is a beautiful medley of flavours with red grapefruit and juicy ripe naartjie dominant at first, developing into an appealing lemon meringue texture and flavour complemented by hints of vanilla pod. The wine has a long finish with prominent orange blossoms and potpourri notes.

VINIFICATION

Fermentation: Fermented in older barrels with selected yeast strains. Racked once and kept on the fine lees.

Barrel Maturation: A combination of 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill French oak barrels were used.
The wine was matured in barrels for 11 months.

 

TASTING NOTE

Aromas of orange blossom and pineapple are prominent on the nose. On entry, ripe yellow lemon flavours develop into a cocktail of ripe pineapple and red grapefruit. The midpalate is dominated by a lovely creamy lemon meringue-like texture and flavour with highlights of vanilla pod. The sweet citrus aromas linger long after the last sip.
