OUR WINE PHILOSOPHY
Our winemaker, Rolanie Lotz, is especially renowned for crafting excellent Rhone-style varietals and blends, specialising in Shiraz, but also creates outstanding Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. All the grapes are handpicked where the bunches are further hand-sorted so that only the best bunches are used for fermentation and further maturation.
Our main goal is to showcase our unique terroir by preserving as much of the natural fruit aromas and character of our grapes as possible. We meticulously craft every wine with a very strong emphasis on expression, complexity, and balance. When ready for you to enjoy, the wine will always be sophisticated, elegant, and refined.

BLACK MARBLE HILL RANGE
Chardonnay | Syrah
Sandstone Grove Chardonnay 2017
With its pale gold colour and combination of citrus, peach and apples, this wine is designed to please. Matured in French oak barrels, it is full-bodied with enough complexity to accompany different food dishes, yet it reveals a lingering freshness. The balance between fruit and its natural acidity allows for a long maturation and an elegant finish.

- 100% fermentation in oak barrels
- Wine was kept on lees and stirred regularly

- 300l French oak barrels – 33% new

Black Marble Hill Syrah 2017
A multifaceted wine with dark plum and aromatic spicy aromas. Full-bodied with juicy palate appeal and savoury finish.

Vinification
Balling:
- 26 º B at harvest
Fermentation:
- Cold maceration for two days before inoculation with a selected yeast strain
- Fermentation on the skin in stainless steel tanks
- Regular pumpovers were done during fermentation
- Malolactic fermentation done in stainless steel tanks
Oaking:
- 300l French oak barrels
- 80% new and 20% 2nd fill
Aging:
- Matured in barrels for 24 months
- Bottle matured for 12 months prior to release

Rhebokskloof Chenin Blanc 2019
Luscious and aromatic with an abundance of fresh and juicy tropical fruit. Nicely textured with a long, crisp finish. A wine for any and every occasion.

Fermentation:
- Cold fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts
- Kept on the lees for five months before stabilisation, filtration and bottling

- No wood used

- Chenin Blanc – 87%
- Grenache Blanc – 13%
Rhebokskloof Chardonnay 2019
An elegant wine with irresistible citrus and nutty flavours on the nose. The judicious use of oak enhances the flavour and the well-balanced acidity ensures good aging potential.

Fermentation:
- Fermented and matured in 300l French oak barrels
- Wine was kept on lees with regular stirring
Oaking:
- Mostly 2nd and 3rd fill
- 300l French oak barrels
Aging:
- Matured in barrels for 9 months prior to bottling
- Bottle matured for 3 months prior to release

A complex wine with spice, red fruit and black pepper that boldly reflects typical Shiraz characteristics.

This wine shows complex, dark fruit flavours with notes of blackberry, prunes and hints of soft oak spices. The ripe tannins fill the palate and nuances of dried fruit flavours linger on the aftertaste.

- Matured in 300l French oak barrels
- 25% new oak used
Aging:
- Matured separately in barrels for 12 months
- Components were blended before further maturation in barrels for 4 months
- Bottle matured for 6 months prior to release

Flatrock Red 2018 Shiraz/Pinotage
Black and red fruit flavours with a pinch of spice, entices both nose and palate. Soft and smooth tannins give the perfect finish. Enjoy with a succulent steak.
