The Cape’s beloved Waterblommetjie Festival returns for its 16th edition, with Rhebokskloof Estate joining Windmeul Kelder and Domaine Brahms for a day celebrating one of the Boland’s most distinctive seasonal delicacies.
Found in the Western Cape during August and September, the indigenous waterblommetjie is harvested for only a short period each year, making it a sought-after seasonal ingredient. It has long formed part of local food heritage, most famously in traditional waterblommetjiebredie, and was also used by the Khoikhoi for medicinal purposes.
Each of the three participating venues will offer its own programme of food, entertainment and activities, so festivalgoers can make a day of it and explore all three stops.
